Default Money making!

Hey all.

So me and some friends recently started up GW again. We are having some money issues though. We are at the part of the factions campaign where you choose which side (luxon/kurzick).

The biggest money sink seems to be capture signets. I'm constantly dropping 2k every zone for new elites ;p

But in general even if we run as 4, the loot drops don't really make up for it at all. And none of this stuff sells anymore. Back when I first started guild wars when it came out, at least most gold items had somewhat of a value to other players. Now days even these new green items seem worthless.

I got lucky and landed a superior rune of vigor the other day, so I'll probably sell that... but it wont cover the crazy amount of skills I need to buy for heroes/myself!

Are keys worth the 600g? I rarely get anything good, but I did get that superior rune out of a chest so they can't be all bad.

So at our point in the campaign, what would you suggest in terms of money making?

Everything is so outdated on the farming section, or way late end game stuff. I've followed 4 builds/guides on these forums that ended up just being nerfed.

And you can't directly ask questions over there.

I'm not sure where else to go.

Get the Storybooks, do the missions and turn them in. ID all whites. Go feather farming in Kryta or Jaya Bluffs. Do the daily Zaishen Missions and Bounties. Don't waste money on keys. There is no great way to make lots of gold except playing the game.

Is it also smart to salvage everything? Or only specific items like axes, because for example iron ingots are worth a lot?

do you really need to cap each and every elite? :O especially for your secondarys proffesions. you should be fine in armour from seitung until at least cavalon/HzH, but then it's kinda recommended to buy a full set.

Maybe they want the skill hunter title. It also unlocks their use for heroes on the account.

I like capping skills for heroes and junk.

I already have the more expensive armor from kaineng city. Is there something after that type? minus the stuff that just looks neat. I don't have the income for looks neat lol

Oh and what do you mean by ID all whites? Sorry I don't know these abbreviations yet.

Kaineng City sells maximum armor, so you cant get anything better (stats-wise).

And when using a id-kit on a white drop then the white item becomes a BIT more vabluble... not sure if it's worth it.

Regular weapons that drop that are of little value, white rarity. ID them, they will be worth more.

Once you start fighting stuff that's level 20+ and are dropping whites worth ~50g+ then you'll be profiting. The cost of an ID is 4g (5g if you buy superior kits), so you'll profit if the ID increases it by more than that. Some items only increase by 1 or 2g, which is a loss (obviously), but most of the time it's a profit (I've seen whites jump by 20g+ on several occasions).

Play the game as you would, no farming. When you plow through the quests and missions and sell most of the less valuable drops to merchs and the more valuable to players I know in nightfall I netted around 30k when I was done with the campaign.

Or you could fast faction farm or jade quarry/ fort aspenwood and sell the jade and amber to players

Go to Jaya Bluffs (Buffs?), which is noobie island on your Factions campaign. Load up a skill bar with lots of area of effect damage and a self heal. Pretty much anything works for this. Farm the Sensai groups outside in normal mode. You'll make a good chunk of money collecting feathers and salvaging scalps into feathers as well. The Sensai drop lots of runes too. For a new player like yourself, this is really profitable and really easy to do. The Sensai are all low levels (in normal mode) so they aren't much of a threat.

Stand in kamaden, buy items for a low price, sell them at a higher price then you bought=profits.

Both faster and easier then farming.

I wouldnt call that easy. Powertrading requires both patience and good knowledge of what items are worth.
Do the featherfarm, ID all whites, and I also recommend salvaging all iron items like swords etc. A white sword that merchant might pay 70g for can often become 5-7 iron ingots which sell around 18-20g each (accumulate a stack and sell to players for 5k or a bit less, not to the trader). That will make you a few plats every so often so you can afford signets.
